Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: USA (Remote)

 

Position Summary:

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for commissioning, servicing, and supporting audio-visual (AV) equipment and software systems across a range of environments, including corporate, military, and educational settings. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to systems such as AV setups in command-and-control centers, executive boardrooms, conference centers, IP AV and corporate networks, Microsoft Active Directory, video display systems, video wall systems, and API integration with control systems. The Field Service Engineer plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing proactive technical support both onsite, online, and via telephone.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Thrive in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments with minimal supervision, delivering technical expertise to post-sale partners and end users.
  • Provide comprehensive training and technical support to partners and end users.
  • Deliver end-user support on a rotating schedule.
  • Test software in real-world environments, offering valuable feedback to product management and engineering teams on potential issues and product enhancements.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of both released and pre-production products.
  • 50% travel is required, predominantly domestic, with occasional international trips.

 

Essential Position Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, providing technical support.
  • 3+ years of experience working within Microsoft Windows Active Directory environments.
  • 3+ years of experience with computer systems, software, and IP networks.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of customers and management levels.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to conduct both formal and informal training, presentations, and customer calls.
  • Must be able to lift equipment weighing over 50 lbs.
